Christmas decs.

When do you take down the christmas decorations?
Are you susperstitious about the 12th night? My Mum used to always say it was unlucky if you didn't take them down before then.

I am doing mine today. I like them up for my birthday (13th Dec.) and down after my son's (31st), thaat's long enough for me.
I am a tiny bit sentimental though, and have left two tiny snowflakes on one kitchen window and two on my bedroom window for a wee bit longer. I don't suppose anyone will notice except me, so that's alright.

Re: Christmas decs.

Day after Boxing Day, then I have a big spring clean through washing all carpets and curtains. Start the new year clean and tidy.

Yes, I knew a Scottish lady many years ago who always did that. I don't know if it a Scottish tradition (perhaps someone could enlighten me?) or whether it was her own personal preference, but she spring cleaned everywhere the day before N.Y. Eve.

I took the decorations down yesterday . They had been up long enough !

It is a Scottish tradition to clean the entire house before New Year . Usually on the 31st .
I just did a mini clean !

Re: Christmas decs.

Mine came down yesterday, followed by a good clean up. Love to put them up but after Christmas and New Years Eve are over, it's time for them to go..
