Pug how are you old son.
Coal makes sense, I’ll buy that, my regards to your Auntie Ella.

Re: Leisurely Scribbles (part 5)

I have very few problems thank God, and if i had i wouldn't bother anyone else with them, i'm one who suffers in silence, as the man said we all have our cross to bear.
I have a grand picture of kids playing chasing years ago, I'll find it later and show you, found it on a forum all about old Dublin town, would you believe there was a photo on it of Phyllis and me walking down O'Connel Street taken by a street photographer back in 1962, and no I'm not showing that one, she won't allow it, something about her hair not being right, nothing wrong with her hair, it's her brain that ain't right.
At the moment I'm taking an 2003 iMac apart, I am under orders to get rid of it "When are ya goin' to dump that oul thing out?" you know what I mean, once that starts it's time to shift it.
It's the one with all the works located in the ball at the base, the action on the swivel screen is terrific and i want to use it on a modern monitor, it's great fun ripping the thing apart using hammers, saws, chisels, several types of screwdrivers, and bad language. I only want the chrome swivel bar, the rest of it will be going in the bin bit by bit.

Re: Leisurely Scribbles (part 5)

sounds very technical to me Jem - I'd talk to Pugsy about that.

Yep but I do understand your sentimentality - all my works are located in my ball at the base [only got one unfortunately] and I'd have to walk very funny without it! and I wouldn't want to lose me swivel action - not when there's blondes walkin by!

well why didn't ya say it was chrome first up - mines copper and it's very good for me migraines!

Re: Leisurely Scribbles (part 5)

I remember one time when my boss was away on holidays, it was his policy to employ some people with physical handicaps and when he was away it was my job to interview them. On Monday morning a girl came in from the agency, she was very nice, her only handicap was that one arm was slightly shorter than the other, nothing more than that.
She seemed to fit the bill and I said she had the job, just as she stood up to go, Mary the other office girl, came in and I introduced her to the new girl, Mary smiled and shook her hand then said “By the way how’s your shorthand” Boom Boom!
That’s specially for your office Spitty, roll on opening day.

Re: Leisurely Scribbles (part 5)

I think this is a smashing picture, full of life and action, and probably taken with an old box camera, look at all the muck and germs on them kids and yet it helped build up a tough immune system, the measles, mumps, chicken pox, colds and flu were all a doddle to kids like that back then, today the measles is very serious with children.
