Has anyone ever had that 'thing' when you are walking along amongst a crowd of people when someone comes the other way and you have a connection just for a second?; normally eye contact that lasts a bit longer than usual. Is that a first impression? suppose it must be.

Yes... thats it most probably although sometimes you can feel a person looking at you...maybe its animal instinct when a stare meant you were probably the next meal

Most animals don’t like to be stared at .
I have caught many difficult horses by looking at their feet as I approach.
Predators tend to have their eyes on the front of their heads Ie lions , crocodiles us !

First impressions don't really mean a lot and can lead to incorrect judgemental opinions .

I do actually judge books by their covers when I'm browsing the shelves and the occasional bottle of wine or beer by the label. I am usually right.

I like to look inside the book and read the first page ....
Sniffing and tasting wine is better guide to the content than looking at the label ....
