Re: Back to School

Jonathan Pie Had something to say about it.

NSW schools have been back full time for a couple of months (since the beginning of May from memory), occasionally a pupil or teacher gets Covid and the school is closed for a few days for deep cleaning. Seems to work OK. No face masks or social distancing for school kids apart from one private school none have been involved in an outbreak as far as I know.

Victorian schools have been shut again until the current lockdown is over, I am not sure about the other states.

Are you stopping them from going to work then because as adults they are more likely to die from covid than if they were under 16 .......

They're both working from their homes. They've got more sense than to risk it when they don't need to.

So thats where they will stay until next year then even thought they are over 65 times more likely to die of something else other than Covid-19 ?

Re: Back to School

Our local secondary school are supplying single use masks to pupils on entry, these apparently are only effective for a short while.
There's a concern about some wording in the Government's statement which allegedly say that pupils showing positive tests at school will be removed to a "place of safety". Some parents believe this means taken away by authorities unknown without parent's permission.
I'm not sure if that is the case, but if it is, it's worrying.
Imagine being at work and hearing your child has been removed from school!

Probably. Neither of them need to work outside of their homes in order to be 100% productive, in the case of my son he's got his own business and my daughter is a business consultant and author.

They both live in small-ish villages near enough but thankfully far enough from us so why add to the ever present risks of normal life?

Good point. Unless they have designated rooms in schools? Will ask around to determine what it all means.

Re: Back to School

FGS if you can’t get your child a mask what sort of a parent are you .

Go and buy a pack of five washable ones.

And wash them as you do their knickers and underpants

Re: Back to School

I see uni lecturers and our aspiring elites are now joining the ranks
of anxious mothers and pupils in wanting to do their lessons whilst
lying in bed ??
Where did they get the idea that they are at risk?
All of the graduates are under 30yrs old and most of the lecturers
are under fifty???
And they seem to think its ok to congregate for a good demo??

Donkeyman! 😟😟👎👎
