Breadline Britain

Watching it on BBC. A family of five living on a food budget of £20 a week. God love them and it must be so difficult.

Re: Breadline Britain

By accident, I caught a bit of "Benefits Britain" this week and on it was a disgustingly obese family, stuffing their faces and complaining that Britain was like Nazi Germany wanting everyone to conform to a perfect shape.

You can always find extremes and this is what makes 'news'.

I watched that Myra and had deep respect and admiration for her.

Such a shame about her injury.

Re: Breadline Britain

Shows like Benefits Britain are just set up to divide us and make us think that is the norm for people on benefit, the £20 budget for food is far more honest portrayal of what it is really like for families.

I agree Julia
there seems to be so many Benefits programs on now all showing the extremes and its all like "demonising" people on benefits..not all are like these by a long shot.

Yes. What the hell can £20 buy a family? It's just awful. It's just the extremes that get me.

Don't watch them but I did read that people had changed their view - to a positive one - on claimants as a result

You are so right Aysa. "Demonising" is exactly what is happening for some.
