Australian idea of covid protection --- or maybe not.

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world...cid=uxbndlbing

So despite preventing humongous numbers of citizens from returning home and having deliberately taken their eye off the ball where immunisation was concerned the government are willingly allowing the French Rugby team in.

To paraphrase Chamberlain they are plainly a "far away country of whom we know nothing"

I'm just really glad they're far away. Bet their own citizens being kept from going home don't feel the same way even though they're probably safer where they are.

Me? I'm unsure if this whole Australian eff up where covid is concerned is down to arrogance, ignorance, or just good old selfishness and stupidity.

Taking the gauche way that they treat China and the amazingly inept way that they have reacted to covid - whatever it is they have a great deal to learn about the modern world.

The French Rugby team though. It's enough to make a cat laugh.

UK

In addition the increase in covid tests that show positive is NOT matched with the same %age of hospital admissions and thank goodness nor deaths.

Furthermore the %age of increases vary across "communities", one "community" that comprises of colonies have a VERY low vaccine uptake and so have a much worse outcome. Some might say good!

What this shows is the importance of how data and information are very different things and should not be confused.

As for Australia and the disgusting way that its own citizens are being prevented from returning while allowing the Frog Rugby Team entry is disgusting. It's not as if the Frogs are any good at Rugby anyway.

Aww... So sweet, I am sure the nation is touched by your concern for our citizens and the game played in Brisbane - there are no covid cases in Queensland.
.
The number of commercial international arrivals allowed into Australia will be temporarily halved to around 3,085 per week.

Prime Minister, Scotty from Marketing, made the announcement following a meeting of national cabinet on Friday. He said the decision would reduce pressure on quarantine facilities and was made given the virulent nature of the Delta variant of COVID-19.

Scotty said the government would mitigate the impacts of the cap reduction by increasing repatriation flights.

So don't you worry your pretty little head about such matters, here is a lovely picture of Australia to cheer you up.

Did you know that Perth is closer to Jakarta than to Brisbane? Isn't that interesting?
