Re: Chinese Take Aways

What's the difference between a capitalist Chinaman and a capitalist American, it will make no difference to the ordinary people, for years the Americans have been calling the shots and look where it got us, we are all deeper in the shit now then ever we were, it doesn't matter who's the mightiest power around it's the hands that control the World purse that rules the World, the hands (or faces) we never see, yet when a major war breaks out the money flows like water, no problem spending 5 million on one "Extra Smart" bomb or at the bottom end of the scale 5 quid per bullet. How many Countries are still paying back money for World war 2 debt?.
All I can say is the devil must be a cameleon, a few years back he was the red menace, now he's the yellow menace, God knows what colour he'll be before he's finished.

Sometimes the only course of action is to wait and see.

You missed the words 'and Bitter' off Joe.

You have blinkers on Joe, Maggie did not do everything that you think she did. OK she made you bitter but company's are sold by share holders not Prime Ministers.

Is it REALLY necessary for me to remind you Bob???

Before Thatcher (phth, phth, phth) 'WE THE PEOPLE' owned our utility services, British Gas, Water, Electricity, Telephones, British Rail, Etc, etc, etc. She, stupid woman, decided to sell them off very cheaply to her cronies who then in turn sold them for their 'profit' to foreign owned companies. Had she not privatised these utility companies in the first place, they could not, as now, be foreign owned.

Re: Chinese Take Aways

Realising capital by selling assets that were in government ownership that never should have been was one of the Thatcher Governments best moves. Government should not run railways, mine coal, provide water, run a telephone network, and all the other things that were being done.

As to the owner of such things as long as the owners of such utilities are subject to control over pricing and quality of service by statute where is there any problem?

Let’s not loose sight of just how many foreign buisnesses are owned by British investors.

If there IS a problem it’s the matter of just how diligently the various government “watchdogs” are doing their job.

If that were true Dieter, then tell me why the French and German governments own their own Railway networks??? - Why do the French Government own their own Electricity supply??? Hmmmm???

Because Socialialism hasn't yet been put out with the trash, but it's now well on the way as its horrific costs start to become a factor.
