As someone has already said, how can you come to terms with something so unpredictable?
My cousin in Australia, can't understand why we don't have more bbq's in the summer .. I've tried explaining that a warm summers' afternoon doesn't guarantee a warm summer evening

ozzies aren't allowed to have BBQ's in the summer months - [fire hazard] only in the winter months when it is cooler - but they do have cyclones, tornados, bush fires, floods, mosquitos and gnats! oh and ski resorts in the eastern states!

Re: Have the British ever come to terms with the weather?

We British have known what our Weather is like since long before we were even called Britons yet we are oh-so-amazed when it snows, rains, wind howls, thunder & lightening abounds and local authorities and private companies providing public services say that the Weather caught them unawares!

If we had all lived in Siberia we'd all be dead!! stevmk2

I'll go along with you on that Steve, as soon as we see a bit of Sun we'll all be out and about again and forget all about it...till next year.

Re: Have the British ever come to terms with the weather?

I have spent about 5 hrs today shifting snow, several tons of it, I reckon. Our part of North Wales was particularly badly hit with the white stuff. I have managed to dig out the car and clear enough of our drive so hopefully I can get the car out later this week if the roads are clear. I have done the same for our daughter.
