Personally i believe that a child learns from actions more than words.
Animals react to the tone of your voice but children often don't.
I also feel that if we treat children like precious, fragile gems, they soon learn that a telling off won't hurt.

No mother wants their child to get burned, but one day they could if you spend all your time protecting them rather than teaching them.

How many times have you said that on other threads like this one.

Why the need to constantly repeat the same old same old,it's all over the forum.

With the greatest of respect I felt a great need to deliver this on a post to you.

It sounds to me like an obsession...

Pauline perhaps you could tell me where you have seen me post about smacking children before?
If you can't I will be happy to accept your apology.

My belief in discipline & punishment covers many situations, but that wasn't what your post said!
Being rude about other peoples opinions & posts is unlikely to gain you many friends on this site!

Now wait a minute Pauline this is not true .
Twink AFAIK has never said "Hang the lot of them "
Its really unfair when people insinuate or say outright things that are simply not true .

I also believe in CP but not in a 'hang the lot 'of them way .
But for heinous proven crimes .
Ie
The Lee Rigby killers would be no more and Peter Sutcliffe will no longer be burdening the tax payer with his presence .

Nor do I believe in flogging for stealing a piece of bread as our resident mental health professional erroneously stated

For stealing someone's car and putting innocent people's lives at risk. Yes .
Caning - not flogging as in some places -is a quick and immediate consequence .
Its simple not rocket science .
If you don't like it don't steal .

On the same basis don't take someone's life and expect to live ..

It's really not honest to make these sweeping and untrue statements about people simply because they have a different opinion to oneself .

Thank you Muddy.
To be honest I do worry, when some people cannot see the difference between giving a child a slap on the hand & hanging somebody for murder!
