Re: NHS Dental charges gripe!

I went to the dentist last month. I hadn't been for two years. My teeth did need cleaning though. I had the NHS part and it was £50.50 and that
included the Dentist cleaning and descaling them and one filling.
I applied for a NHS card to get my dental treatment cheaper.
You need a form called HC1 its a big blue form with loads of pages and
questions. I applied not only because I am a pensioner but hardly any
savings.
I managed to get the card for a year. I can go to the dentist and pay
no more than £25.75 for my treatment now.
On the form I filled out there were other people who could apply who
were on low incomes etc. Look online like I did and see if you can
apply too.
I got half my money back by cheque.

Re: NHS Dental charges gripe!

I wish it did apply to me but it doesn't even though I'm no longer employed.
I wasn't aware a filling was charged at Band one, I read only a checkup and scale and polish, fillings and extractions supposedly are Band 2 and cost a lot more

Now it's a special head for a Braun she's pushing!

I wonder if they get commission? stevmk2

Bet they do Steve. Vets do on things they sell.

I suspect you're right Patsy, sounds like a big con to me.
