Autumn

Can hardly think about autumn yet, but I had a reminder it's on it's way when I saw my garden centre getting the stocks of Daffodils and tulips etc in. I expect it'll be all the Christmas stuff next!
Made me think I'm another year older too . . .

Re: Autumn

Awww, autumn's a beautiful time of year. The biting bugs are gone, trees are turning colour, not as much concern being scalded in the sun, cool sunny mornings where the sun actually feels good beating on your back while you're still deadheading the snapdragons. I could go on & on!

Everytime you turn the next year older, just tell yourself "this is the first day of being ** so I've got the wholllle year ahead still".

There......do you feel any better?

Re: Autumn

I though it looked like autumn today with many yellow leaves blowing about

I used to love Autumn but now see it as the prelude to a dying year.

Re: Autumn

I love all of the seasons, they all hold their own form of beauty even when that beauty is harsh, and how boring would it be without them.

I think my favourite season is spring, followed by autumn then summer with winter being my least favourite, but I wouldn't like to miss any really...

Re: Autumn

I guess Autumn will be when I move, ride out winter with seed catalogues and then spring with a sensible garden I can manage.

I'm with you on all of that plantman. As much as I love sunny days I do enjoy the change of seasons.

Re: Autumn

I love a blizzard in winter when I don't have to go anywhere. I don't know, my favourite seasons are never anyone else, lol. Same with daylight savings time. I just love when the days get shorter. To me there's something cozy & peaceful about it being dark out or autumn & winter. It's quiet where we live but I think my feelings all stem from coming from a noisier place. Everyone was outside in the summer so you couldn't really have a lot of piece & quiet until they went in at night. Do I sound like a curmudgeon? Maybe so but its the way I feel & we had kids that were out banging around on skateboards, etc. I couldn't wait for school to start but then stuff would happen after school until they had to go home. Sometimes in the summer, teens would be hanging out on the street in the summer with nothing to do. I had a hard time sleeping then because I didn't know what they were up to. Nothing like that happened once it started getting cooler.

Plus....i just am not a heat & humidity type of person. My highest temperature for the summer would be 65C if I had my way. It gets way too hot here. There....rant over, LOL!

I'm so glad we were able to move to the country. Still though, autumn & winter are in my soul. I like spring too & summer has it's positive qualities so....like plantman, I couldn't live anywhere where the weather was the same day in, day out.
