Re: Cliff Richard

Only very small percentage of abuse cases actually make it court , and only very small percentage of rape abuse victims win , cps are reluctant to give a case the go head because lack of DNA , lack of witness and basically lack of evidence because of the time scale of the rape or abuse . but if there's no prosecution , doesn't mean the incident didn't happen ,

Same with not guilty verdict , doesn't mean by a long shot , he or her are innocent

Re: Cliff Richard

Well might as well lock all men up then if that's the case, because even if they say they are innocent and no proof can be found they may still be guilty !

You know I still think abusers are few and most men are innocent. I really think it's sad anyone is thinking that is wrong.

Re: Cliff Richard

Well things were very different in the 60's and 70's . . No excuses for the likes of Saville, Harris etc. But Cliff NO! Surely not
I can remember being a roadie for a band touring clubs in the early 70's and the girls used to just throw themselves at you.
God knows how old some of them were..
Different world.

Re: Cliff Richard

I'd never say lock all men up, only the proven abusers. We're living in a strange, abusive world by all accounts. Let's hope today's celebs don't take advantage like yesteryears.

Some celebs of yesteryear just thought it was a nature thing to do.
Just human nature, and youthful hormones being what they are.

But it wasn't a nature thing to do. They were perverts. We know that now.

I was not referring to the likes of Saville etc.
I was merely saying it may have been so easy to be drawn into underage relationships back then.

Why not woman too

Spoke to many of my ex-wife colleagues over the years , that work Police unit which specialises in investigating rape and sexual assault cases, they say in london your never more than 180 yards at any given time from a rapist or paedophile, that how many there is out on the streets , can't go into details , but my ex-wife can give you countless victims that's taken their life's over the years , after a not guilty verdict , and 1000s cases were they 100% sure a rape or abuse case should go to court , but it doesn't ie cps ,

I've reached a stage where I would trust none of these so called celebrities. Sweetness and light on the outside, some of them, but cunning villains on the sly. Hope Richy is innocent, but we'll just have to wait and see. Innocent until proven guilty. We'll soon find out.
That's an awful lot of scumbags .........the fact is that JS covered his tracks rather well and was seen as a good person who did a lot of fund raising, the people who knew what he was doing were actually the people at the receiving end who didn't say anything because they didn't think they would be believed in most cases.

As Agent said they were very different times, it was a normal part of life to have lots of innuendo flying about, aimed at girls and women and of course also a lot of very inappropriate behaviour and exploitation very little of which has ever come to light.

Regarding 'Celebrities' there is nothing to say that anyone who is well know and perhaps considered a 'celebrity' is a rapist or paedophile. I wouldn't say sweetness and light necessarily in all cases like the rest of us, but it's a bit extreme to think that everyone who becomes known through being on TV or an actor must also be a 'cunning villain' sexual predator.

I thought you meant someone with the surname of Richie in your last line and then I realised you meant CR.
