Doll's house taken to Antiques Roadshow in Tewkesbury worth £150,000

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england...shire-37200007

An early 18th Century doll's house, described as "of national importance", has been valued by the BBC's Antiques Roadshow at more than £150,000.

It will feature in Sunday's first episode of the new series of the long-running programme, which was recorded at Tewkesbury Abbey in Gloucestershire.

Expert Fergus Gambon said it was "unique" and "one of the most important English baby houses in existence".

The doll's house was built in 1705 and is extremely well preserved.
I always watch AR but Sunday's is obviously a "must-see" .....

Wow! That is amazing it's survived for over 300 years in that condition. Wish I'd had it.
My Mother used to have a large, on bow rockers, Victorian rocking horse as a child, her Parents, my Grandparents gave it away. I was gutted, but it was before I was born, but I have always wanted one.

Wonderful ... saw it on FB, watched the video and then it vanished !!!

Dolls and dollhouses are of an interest (I used to restore antigue dolls for a living) and when I saw the dolls it bought memories flooding back.

Memories not only about people but Kensington, where I worked, and the shops in Kensington and Notting Hill the travelling on tubes and buses and, occasionally a car.

The horrors of Hanmersmith roundabout yikes

It's a bit of a dilemma isn't it. If you owned it, would you sell it and bag the £150,000 plus or is it so fantastic that you couldn't bear to part with it?

I'm not sure although I guess the owners are probably ok for money anyway.

It would be a shame if it went out of the family after all the years its been with them .
But with 3 boys it does prove a problem especially being of such value .

I wonder if it was put up for sale .

There will be female relatives somewhere surely ?

OK so it won't be a direct line, but does it really matter ?

Probably better in a museum anyway, then we can all visit

theres three sons ,if all of them have a daughter each which one is going to have it ,?

It really is not something to be played with, it being to old and fragile , so I would have thought anyone of them could be the custodian.
I think they are wanting to sell it , that's why they have brought it to AR.

I would like to see it on show in a Museum too .

I think the programme was filmed in May ?
Just been talking to a friend who was unclear about where it ended up.
Not found up to date info on the internet so far
