Re: What book are you reading now?

I finished The Girl on the Train and enjoyed it immensely. The only problem was the dates - I have a poor memory for dates and had to keep referring to the previous chapter but apart from that it was a gripping story about some very flawed people.

Once I had finished the book I watched the movie, the location had been changed from the UK to 'Merica and the main character didn't fit the book description but not a bad film of the book as films of books go.

BTW if you do decide to watch the movie make sure you get the right one there are two with the same name you want the 2016 movie not the 2013 one which is a different story altogether.

Re: What book are you reading now?

Just started "The Girl from Munich" by Tania Blanchard

It starts in 1943 and is about a girl proudly working for the Luftwaffe who is planning her wedding just as the Third Reich starts to fall apart and she is eventually forced to flee.

Apparently inspired by a true story. So far seems pretty readable and interesting.

It was a best seller a couple of years ago according to the cover.

Anyone else read it?

I am about a third of the way through "The Girl from Munich" mentioned previously and it is a real page turner, can't put it down.

Highly recommend it.

I am reading a kids book, well teen really, called Racing Manhattan by Terence Blacker, surprised it's by a man actually, as it's about a young girl who is a horse whisperer. It's so far very good & as I love books with horses in I am enjoying it.

One Night Gone by Tara Laskowski is a "subtly but relentlessly unsettling" mystery.

A fired television meteorologist goes to a small ocean side town for the summer, and becomes entwined in the wealthy residents life which includes a carnival girl gone missing thirty years ago.

I am two thirds through and can't seem to find the clue to what happened to the missing girl. Good read.
