Re: It's official, Big Ben will chime on 31st January

News just in .... Boris has said that there will be an attempt to crowd fund the Big Ben Bongs on Brexit day.

This is good news - Tim Martin could pay for this with his loose change !

The reason (as I understand it) is that it would cost around 500K to install a new floor for access and, then to re-install the clapper to make the "bongs" in the bell and that money could be spent better on things like silly adverts for Sadiq Kahn and expenses for his army of "do nothing", woke socialist morons.

Oh well, there is a light at the end of the tunnel because the good old Brexit Party have said they will sound the bongs through the PA in Parliament Square instead.

Good good

That's according to Boris.

I'd heard that Ben is going to bong on January 31st? Nice idea.
But it's going to cost 500,000 for this and the cost can't be justified.

Boris suggests a public fundraising campaign.

The damn cheek!
So what about the cost ...it's symbolic of our freedom!

Exactly. I'm sure that Khan't sees himself as the prime minister of the muslim republic of Londonistan.
Of course, it is the majority of the inhabitants of that once proud city who elected him!

Kahn's track record is nothing but epic failure and his manifesto promises are a joke. Even the one about not increasing fares on London Transport didn't last a week.

Stupid stunts with balloons, blaming everyone else for his do nothing, done nothing, expect nothing leadership and lies about promises.

Sadiq Kahn is a complete helmet.

All it needs is some council employee to go into the bell tower and on the stroke of midnight, January 31st, give the bell a few clouts with a five-pound lump hammer.

Job done.

I'd do it, but I'd give it 13 clouts just for luck!

That sounds like a paraphrase of the opening line of Orwell's 1984 to me
