We put in for permission to have them topped to reduce the height. The person from the council came around and said all we were allowed to do was trim the trunk and remove any dead/dangerous wood. they did also allow a few foot off overhanging branchesRe: You c an't win
Yeah, Realspeed, all Councils' arboriculturists have you over a proverbial barrel when it comes to working on trees covered by TPOs as we found out at our last digs near London. Our apartments' management company wanted to top some sycamores along the river bank that bordered our development (they were destroying the bank and brick-built Victorian wharfage). Along comes the tree fella and looks at the trees along the bank and says, "No. Absolutely not. Even though they have disease ridden branches, they're not bad enough to fell yet. Oh, that one's rotten through. OK, that one can come down."Re: You c an't win
