Re: The European Election: Results

Imo brexit can not take place while the current POSHOC
is in situ in westminster! How long can the tories hang on
in power? Who will take their place? Can the Brexit party get
organised quickly enough?
Thats too many unknowns imo?
The only way l see forward is quite long term, and thus
not palateable to many people?
Forget a quick exit, and push on with a full scale attempt
at a GE and take it from there!
Brexit can come later?
Can anybody think of anything different?

I've seen commercials come close in and trawl all the sole out of the beaches in frinton. Lights off and engines just above idling... bastards

Needless to say we dont get much sole anymore either.
Hi

When Bawdsey was operational, no commercial fishing, it fried their electronics.

The blindspot even went as far as the Shipwash Sands.

You could get out of the boat and fish the gully's miles off shore.

Being on the job, we knew when they were not at full power, so could use the echo sounders.

All gone now.

Re: The European Election: Results

We have had 'the same old' from Labour's Richard Burgon on the Today programme and John McDonnell and talk about a Labour move towards another referendum.
What happened to Labour's cry ''We must respect the results of the referendum''.

Why haven't the media interviewed the Labour MPs in leave constituencies and those Labour MPs who voted leave to see what they think of the results of the election?

We are not getting a complete picture here, social media is alive with angry Labour MPs a sample ..
The spinning of these results this am is predictable but also very damaging, this fingers in ears approach to push preferred narratives is what got us into this mess in the first place, it only serves to enhance the disconnect between politicians and voters.
Very disappointing result in Rotherham, it would be ridiculous if the view we took from this election was that Labour should become more pro-remain.

If we move that way then we can guarantee the loss of many seats across the country at any future election.
Those “important people” who said Wakefield is now for Remain need to show some humility. They were wrong.
I never doubted my constituents determination to have their voice heard and that is why I have stuck to my view to accept the original referendum.
That’s ridiculous. There will be voters who voted Labour who voted Leave or Remain and who are for or against a second referendum.

How many elections have labour lost and Corbyn and his Marxist cronies are still there ,?

Labour are a party for London and nowhere else.

Many might have thought, "Oh this Brexit party is just a new upstart and won't get anywhere, so I won't bother to vote".
Those people might now think again and realise that their vote can count after all.
Let's hope so. We could do with a major change.

This was over 30 years ago, when fishing was great and you could catch sea trout in Martlesham Creek and the Deben at Wilford Bridge.
Interesting. I lived in the same location for years. I must assume you know the Brinkley's .

They have always been in power in Hull, many miles away from London. Also they hold more seats in Yorkshire as a whole than the Tories ever will. Always been like that in the north mate.
I always come to the conclusion that the reason is because not as many working class people are interested in politics as those in affluent areas.

Good to see that jumped-up Napoleon has had his arsed kicked big time. Probably due to the `Yellow Vest` movement. Merkel's mob didn't fare too well either.

Fished up that way a few times, Boyton Dock, Aldeburgh, Orford Ness... I find it over rated these days compared to years ago
