I have a rule. I only take in parcels if I know the name and the address is correct. Wrong names and addresses are usually scams.
I had trouble last year LD, a present from a friend went astray and the person my replacement blue badge was delivered to denied receiving it.
I would hate someone to think I had their parcel if I didn't.
I always leave a notice out if I'm expecting a parcel, either where to leave it or a specific neighbour to leave it with.

Mmm? That does rather let people know you are not home Tess. A lot of online purchases allow you to leave instructions to the driver these days but it does depend on who is used.

I have the note there most days LD, it's stuck on next to the doorbell, it says to leave parcels in greenhouse if no reply usually. That means I could be in... the loo or somewhere 😉
My car is in the driveway a lot as my daughter takes me out, so I could be in...
... or not
... or hiding
