There is a high likelihood that Boris might pander to the EU and wilfully accept some plumb position in the EU in later life in which cas ehe will not be delivering BrExit at all.

If that happens Leavers will need to mobilise and for the first time start to make themselves visible and heard by various means.
I also have my doubts about the tories Realist? The test will come
imo when we try to leave the CFP and regain control of our waters
again? We have left it far too long to show our intentions to the eu
on this issue? Whilst l am willing to accept the election result as
being fair and democratic and will give Boris breathing space to get
things moving l worry that when the time comes to walk away from
the talks the majority of tories, who are dormant remainers will
not have the stomach to do it, and the party will split again, leaving
us in the same position as last time??
I hope Boris can be as good as his words but his MPs are his weak
spot?

Re: Exit Poll - A Labour Catastrophe

Hi

There was not really much change in the Vote, Boris only got 1.2% more share of the vote than Theresa May did when she lost her majority in 2017.

It is where the vote increased that made the huge difference.

Traditional Labour voters voted Tory for the first time simply to keep Corbyn out.

Only in part

A significant number of them voted Tory for the first time because they wanted BrExit done. The news covered this extensively with many street interviews.

Yes. After all their efforts, Project Fear has failed.

I've just seen a comment on another forum -

This is what happens when you tell 17,4 million people to f**k off

Yes, several said so on TV news. I think Labour trounced themselves. The fact that Corbyn hasn't got a patriotic gene in his body didn't help.

I have seen a very lengthy list of those he tried to assist throughout his career and the UK didn't appear - even on the end of it.

Hard to increase your share of the vote when you are the party in power.

The fact that the Tories have increased their share of the vote in every election in the 2000's is quite a fantastic achievement............Don't diss it !

I'm not so sure.

Didn't May lose several seats when she called that disastrous extra election?

You might have a very valid point there. By the end of 2020 there is a possibility of crashing out without a trade deal. An extension has to be agreed by july next year.
Boris has said he will not go for that, but the EU has announced they may request one.
Also, several EU leaders have been speaking about prioritising components of a trade deal, leaving e.g. services or fishing for later.
Brexit is not done for some years to come.
