Treasure finders

These greedy stupid men could have been rich now they are in jail.

However IMO their sentences are pretty severe for a non violent crime .

People get less for abusing children.

Yes, you can rob a pensioner and beat them to a pulp and expect to get a couple of years, but try and defraud someone and expect much longer.....

Re: Treasure finders

That long sentence is ridiculous. Some of these judges should be put out to graze as they aren’t fit for the purpose.

Fascinating find . Imagine those first moments touching all the history and treasure .

Yes tough sentencing makes you wonder if they think it was all worth it . The temptation to steal was strong .

Re: Treasure finders

The sentence was harsh. I think they made examples of them to deter people to make sure they declare their findings.

I don't think they deserve that length of time. Yes they did wrong but they didn't murder anyone.

No sympathy. They should have kept it quiet and melted it down. A small furnace that runs off a 13 amp domestic furnace costs about £200 on eBay or one could be built for under £50. There's no shortages of places that bulk gold rough ingots can be sold.

HaHa! It’s funny how some of the people who used to do this, have now been ‘taken out’.
You know, John (Goldfinger) Palmer!

Money crimes are the worst sort of crime you could ever commit in Britain. No one is really interested in muggings, assaults or murders but deprive the state of their coffers and you are done for.

As it happens yes, I did, or rather my wife knew Johns parents.

We bought a flog off time share from his empire on Tenerife based in his Island Village complex.

Bit of a lad but got mixed up with the wrong lot.

BTW - used to? My life, what a sheltered existence you lead!
