Trainspotting? Building model boats in bottles? Collecting different shaped carrots?

Re: Anxiety and depression

I've found a learning a breathing technique has helped me, there are several if you google them and it took time to find what worked best for me. Now if I feel a panic attack coming I do my breathing and it really does help ward it off. You can do others for anxiety too which have helped me get out of the house more. Still can't go with out a human or doggy companion but I am getting better at voluntarily going out.

im back until asked to leave keezoy. Or have an anxiety attack.
If I do have one, I will:
have some medication
listen to some music
play guitar
have a hard swim
do some yoga stretches
talk to God
or start another thread here

Learn to Swim Handbook Rule No.248:
It is always much softer swimming in water than on concrete.

Re: Anxiety and depression

I have suffered anxiety many times in my life and i.vectried different methods of coping, including a course of medication which I might add helped me tremendously.

I ve learned over the years how to cope with the attacks and find they come much less often as I ve gotten older.

My latest aid to help with my anxiety is a book I ve just ordered and waiting for it to arrive, it has some fantastic reviews.

Exercise definitely is a key factor in helping with mental illness. I think everyone suffers with some kind of mental illness during their lifetime, it's just finding a method of help that works for you as an individual and if that is a short course of medication then I think under doctors supervision that's ok, especially if the person is suicidal.

You sound like one of those American Evangelist...the ones in white suits, who sweat a lot, shout hallelujah and ask you to donate a large sum in order to save your soul....are you?
