Re: Chocolate crunch recipe

Azz I remember chocolate crunch with strawberry custard , it was quite hard and very chocolaty with a sprinkling of sugar on the top I can't believe they were still serving it when you went to school

I can more or less guess the ingredient, it wasn't a 'risen' biscuit so would be plain flour , cocoa, sugar, butter and egg.

This looks pretty much like it though I haven't tried this recipe myself ..

300g butter or marg
300g granulated sugar (no need to use caster)
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
35g cocoa
400g plain flour

Cream marg and sugar together. Add the egg and vanilla essence. Fold in the cocoa and plain flour.
Put the mixture into a shallow tin, press down and sprinkle sugar on the top.
Bake in a warm oven at 160c for approx 1 hour.
Once removed then cut into squares.

Re: Chocolate crunch recipe

Thanks Meg and thanks Mags for trying it first!

I bet no matter how great the recipe is, whatever I bake will end up a disaster
