Messing about with Nature.

Hi

This sparked my interest.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-53575103

Scientists are also thawing out organisms from the permafrost which have been dormant for millennia and we are encroaching so fast on rainforest etc and coming across new species every year.

We have had Ebola, Dars and now Covid 19 crossing into himans.

I think we need to be a lot more careful in what we are doing.

Messing about with ancient bacteria, viruses etc should only be done in Level 4 Laboratories, which means building more of them in remote areas.

Just a personal view.

Sometimes scientists need to consider what they are doing. Once the genie is out of the bottle, out of contol and unpredictable...

Swimmy probably no need to worry?
The permafrost is going to thaw out anyway naturally, no matter what
we do in laboratories or elsewhere?
The real danger will come from the greenhouse gasses released!!

This sort of thing seems more likely to have caused Covid rather than the 'Me and the Mrs went out for a Bat curry and had a bad one' theory which we are told.
