Tongue in cheek:-

If you won the general election what would you do to put the country back to being great again?

I know this is a huge question and that there are loads of things that we could do so please limit your answer to 3 things.

Mine would be to:-
Stop immigration until the current problems are sorted out regardless of what Brussels says.

Stop borrowing and tax the profits of large companies until the debt is paid off.

Freeze all pay rises and comsumer price rises for two years.

Where do I start?

1. Education education education - education is the key to a progressive society.
   
2. I would set aside (and warden off) a forest for all those who want 'shariah law' in this country, and tell them if they want to go back into the dark ages - they can do so, there. Without any mod cons such as electricity, clean water, sewage, playstations, television, radios, doctors, medicine, hospitals - nothing. I'm sure they'll come to their senses after a few days/weeks and of they don't would offer a repatriation programme where they can do that full time in one of the 'backwards' countries.
   
3. Immigration - no spongers or backwards folk. If they have an issue with women showing their skin, no thanks. If they have an issue with women socialising with men, no thanks. If they have an issue with gay people, no thanks. If they have an issue with people drinking alcohol, no thanks. Bigots won't be welcome.
   
4. Taxes - we should have fair taxes! Why do the grotesquely rich pay the same as those poorer? Why does it cost the same for a small clapped out banger to go into London than it does a Ferrari?
   
5. Ethical capitalism (if there's such a thing) - businesses should be ethical. It annoys me how supermarkets make BILLIONS of pounds by screwing up our food with chemicals and pesticides! It has been shown time and time again that a poor diet makes you more at risk of disease - they know this, but don't care.
   
6. Ethical medicine - same as above, why aren't natural remedies more mainstream? Because they can't be patented or make pharmaceutical companies even richer than they already are!!

1: Immediately pull out of the EC.

2: Tax the rich 'till their noses bled and withdraw the British nationality of non-doms.

3: Stop all immigration.

2,take back control of our streets
3,close our doors and send home all immigrants that don't pull their weight .

Nero I agree with the non-doms, I think they should reside for a min. of 9months in this country.
It does look like leaving the EU is becoming a common thing. £65bn a year will help to pay off our debt.

Agree with nero and Val's 3's........and one for me punish the baddies an eye for an eye, bring back capital punishment, birching, stocks etc and make the jails very unwelcoming.

I agree, get rid of their TV, Mobile phones, teach them ironing, washing clothes, polishing cell bars, doors lock for 12 hours a day.
