We see lots of them here in the states. They all are welcomed and liked for a couple. Perhaps we are more tolerant of those who choose a different path than one chosen for them from birth.

Even so, they wouldn't want to publicise it for obvious reasons.
As for the 'happy couple', I feel a bit sorry for Harry. I see MeAgain as just another gold digger taking full advantage of Harry, who I suspect is just a bit dim.
And, yes, of course she's taking full advantage of the press's interest (It's every other article in the Daily Express!). After all, she's a (failed) actress and what do actors yearn for more than anything else? Publicity of course!

Dopey Harry has run away from his responsibilities, lured away by a scheming gold digger to use him to gain public awareness in an attempt to enhance what little second-rate acting skills she has in order to obtain publicity, work and hopefully fame, which she was incapable of achieving through her own abilities.
