Experience or education ?

If you were employing someone which would you chose ? One who knows the job or one who learnt it from books.

Re: Experience or education ?

Experience for sure. Books only get you so far, and from my own studies in education, being out in the field is so far removed from what books teach you, its unreal.

Re: Experience or education ?

On the whole though, experience should win through. Although it would be good to know that they had read the relevant books too.
