Re: Fairground Attractions

My adrenaline was attainable without a Fairground, on a daily basis.

Re: Fairground Attractions

As an adult the main thing that has always worried me about fairgrounds is whether everything is serviced and screwed together properly. So it's not the rides that scare me, it's human error. If I could trust that it was all perfectly safe I would not be afraid. But I have heard or seen reports that make me think, avoid.

Re: Fairground Attractions

Got to a point a few years ago where pretty much most rides began to make me physically sick. Probably something to do with my ears (they've always been problematic in terms of hearing and dizziness).

Used to like going on the "swans" ride at Alton Towers. Alas, it was removed several years ago.

Re: Fairground Attractions

I loved all the fair rides. Spinning, dropping, swinging - it was all great fun!

Innocence was bliss, though. I know too much now to give any of them a go!

Big roller coaster in the larger parks regularly inspected are my cup of tea!

With your skating abilities, I would guess you would like anything that involves spinning.

Have you done Tower of Terror? It is aa 13 story vertical drop with random bounces and drops in addition to the big one - in the DARK. I did that one once and was so terrified that vowed to never be that stupid again. Who pays to have a heart attack on vacation, I ask you!

Idiotically , I let Mr. SM convince me to go one more time, with him swearing that I would be much more acclimated the second time around. We don't talk much about what happened, except every now and then he starts pointing at me, laughing to the point of sputtering and I know EXACTLY what he's thinking about.

Re: Fairground Attractions

Never really been one for fairground rides - all that throwing about and spinning, ugh! In town a few years back, they were putting up the Christmas fair and the big wheel was propped up with bricks before being covered with gaudy tarpaulin!

Re: Fairground Attractions

Assemble a posse of half a dozen, go to the neighbouring Estate, call out the local mob leader as a fanny merchant, then RUN for your lives, that was an adrenaline rush, dain't cost a penny.

Fairground Attraction ... I thought this was another of your 80s soft rock music threads at first Minx.
