"City Boys" work exceedingly hard or they are out the door and only get huge bonuses by earning huge sums for their employers.

Back in October 2020, the countries MP's were due a pay rise equivalent to 4.5% put it was put on hold due to the economic situation the country was in due to the pandemic (read BBC article about it here https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/55278314)

What I find utterly disgusting is that the decision to give MP's a 4.5 % pay rise was made during the pandemic and with the country suffering economically and yet the government is making excuses that they are unable to give the NHS nurses a bigger pay rise because the country is suffering economically. The country was suffering economically back in October but that did not stop the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority - the independent body which sets MPs' pay, from setting the amount to 4.5%.

Why didn't the IPSA set MP's pay rise to 1% and use the excuse of economic woes, which is exactly what the government is doing with the NHS nurses.

If the country is suffering economically, as the government put it then why is that MP's have been given a 4.5% pay rise (put on hold) but yet NHS Nurses are being told there is only enough money to give them a 1% pay rise. There is obviously enough money for MP's but not enough for NHS nurses.

Agency nurses are not paid as well as permanently contracted nurses Percy. The agency takes quite a large percentage of what is charged to the NHS. It is a very costly way of staffing and there is not the commitment of bank staff. Here today-gone tomorrow.

Like the banks Todgy, the city boys get a percentage of whatever
passed across their desk that day, this " work" passers that desk on
a daily basis and the "adviser",( clerk) never has to leave their desk
except for the occasional piss etc? The stuff they process is
generated by intensive advertising and comes in automatically??
The whole process could be handled by a robot really, but for the fact
that the customers believe that it is best to talk to a human in these
matters, this. Is erroneous as a human is influenced by his own well
being hence the huge bonus, which is donated by the customer
BEFORE the transaction takes place ! Whereas a robot does not
require this?
They call this work nowdays ??

The Cynic, in me, suggests that the repeated suggestion, from the Government, which was for us to clap on the doorsteps, to show our support, was, after all, in lieu of a pay rise.

I did clap on the doorstep.

(But under my breath I kept saying "This is not for the Doctors who are hiding in their offices")

Whilst doing so, I felt good that the Gov recognised the huge personal contribution, is spite of the very real risks, from the Medical staff.
