I know an educator a thousand miles away when the "whom and him" trick is used, Rhian. It's a good one! .

The "less" and "fewer" corrections I save for the television. The kids think it's funny that I shout corrections to unknowing actors and news anchors, but it feels so good. .

Artangel, I am loose about my grammar here and type horribly, so I would never give even a fraction of notice or judgement here. It's a nice escape from the formality that comes with work and business.

One that jars me immensely is when someone says "bare with me" instead of "bear with me"

Whom Sweet Whom.

Wherever I hang my hat, that's my whom.

Re: I Must Admit, l Do Have Trouble With My ‘Who’ And ‘Whom’.

I try to speak and write proper, but the English language is so complicated that it is easy to get it wronger.

In certain circumstances, correct spilling and grimmer are impotent, especially when dealing with legal terms, but on a general interwebular chat foreman, not so muchish.

I have trouble spelling certain worms. so routinely have to check that I got it write.

Whilst I have two O - Levels in English, I could not tell you the difference between a preposition and a past participle, and in certain circumferences, I cannot work out whether to put a full stop or question mark before or after speech marks.

I like commas, especially the Oxford comma, as well as trail dots ... and semi-colons; but I have trouble working out when a colon would be more appropriate: "do you?"

That's a good rule to go with.

Does that work if Doctor He has become Doctor Her?

Pixie, this may be intentional in a select few cases.
