Royal Mail/Post Office

Whatever they call themselves this week - they are really struggling at the moment. So much so that we have not had a postal delivery - as in delivered by a Postie - this week at all. Had a box of Crafty Stuff delivered by Parcel Post on Monday and that is it. Haven't even a seen a Postie on his/her rounds for ages.

How is it in other areas?

Up here, our postal service is as regular as ever, with a few new faces doing deliveries.

Re: Royal Mail/Post Office

Mine's is coming very slowly in bits and pieces, very few items have arrived when they should.

I read somewhere that it's not so much the postmen's fault, it's because a lot of people are off isolating from the sorting office, so the posties are not getting it to deliver.

Look on the bright side Tabs . . . no bills.

We've had a delivery every day this week bar yesterday. In fact, we see our postie delivering stuff most days.

Hi

It is fine here, a day behind perhaps, but that is to be expected.

Our Posties live locally and are very good.

It seems to be alternate days here with the usual postie. He is very good and if he has a small parcel will leave it next to the door and knock and move away. He then asks if we are OK or if we want anything and to let him know if he can do anything for us - he has been on our round for many years and is a really nice chap.

Re: Royal Mail/Post Office

Ours is delivering, I always see him when out with Dolly in the mornings. I've had post a few things ordered online that fitted through the letterbox.

I've seen people post conflicting views on social media.
Some say keep ordering online to keep businesses going then a postman said don't as it puts them and delivery people at risk.
Not sure what to think.

Re: Royal Mail/Post Office

I have had mail deliveries, parcel deliveries plus Amazon and courior deliveries.
Some have been a little later than expected but at least thanks to the people who are still woking the mail/parcels are getting through. I think when this is all over we owe a big thanks to those who carried on.

Re: Royal Mail/Post Office

It must be difficult to 'social distance' in a a sorting office due to the nature of the work.
