B&Decker scorpion saw

After 6 years with mine getting the saw blade into the cutiing position was hard. The locking blade mechanism would not go back far enough to allow the blade to slip over it then it jammed completely.
Like most modern things it is cheaper to get new than repaired so just ordered a new one.

It is a great tool to have in ones tool kit hence bought another.

Have you been lubricating the blade locking mechanism regularly after clearing all signs of dust? As with all mechanical moving parts, regular LIGHT lubrication is required to keep everything working as intended.

this is the 5amp fused plug used on mine, only a 2 pin and no earth.Has approved BSI kitemark approved under licence KM23223. But no CE type stamp

I thought now every electrical appliance had to have an eath connection.
Made in China of course

If the appliance is classed as 'double insulated' it will not be required to have an 'earth' connection. Most electrical tools that do not have a metal body will be double insulated and yours is one of them. There was no need to cut the plug off as it was already fitted with an approved type of continental to fused 13amp adaptor.

You can easily tell if an appliance is double insulated, there will be a double square on the rating plate, ( usually where the serial number ect is)
