Broadband v Covid v Heatwave!!

I keep receiving a "This Connection has timed out" message. It has happened three times today and is most annoying.

Is it that more people are using their computers due to C19 lockdown?

Is it the current heatwave affecting the signals?

Do I just have a useless ISP?

Should I just switch off and go to bed?

Hi ST same problem here, because I have little band width and a very low speed to start with (2.0 mbs at best) any small thing like a storm or my neighbour SKYPE ing her sons in the USA gives me problems one of the drawbacks of rural living.

Broadband v Covid v Heatwave!! Brexit too ... buggered my modem. Or I keep losing my connection, instruction appear on how to test for what's causing the problem but there's no answers. I think it the man down the road fiddling inside the cable box.

Re: Broadband v Covid v Heatwave!!

No time-outs or slowness with Virgin Media but where problems are being experienced, it could be down to what has been suggested. If it is, then there's not much to be done.

There are things to do with the computer that can cause time-outs too and if problems persist, they could be read about and suggestions followed. Just search for 'the connection has timed out'

A few others said they couldn't log in this morning either.
Not Azz been fiddling with the settings again by any chance, is it?
I remember this happening once before and some of us couldn't log in for a while. Does anyone else remember that?

I couldn't get on OFF this morning (Friday my time) I logged in OK but then I kept getting the screen telling me that the site was unavailable. My internet to ther places in Oz or US was fine.

Anyway I went shopping and it was fine when I got home again (ie now)
