Baby Mauled to Death
This is terrible, just goes to show how no dog should ever be left alone with an infant.This is total neglect , the poor baby. Whoever is responsible for the neglect of this child will have to live with this for the rest of their days.

No small child should be left in a room that a dog, or even a cat, has access to, unless an adult can see what is happening!They have now lost their baby & probably the dog
Lets hope they learn how to care for a child before they consider having any more!

That's terrible. Obviously we don't know the full details like where the baby was and how the dog got to her/him but I do think common sense has disappeared. You see films on youtube of cute babies and dogs together but animals cannot be trusted, not even the gentlest ones.

I couldn't agree more, Dongle. I can't tell you how much I loathe this sort of thing.
I get so exasperated at stoooopid parents who think the dog should cope with anything.
It is teaching the child that it's funny to poke eyes, pull tails, put things down ears, and bounce about on the dog's spine.
Then when a normally good natured animal has had enough, or gets hurt, it growls or snaps - or worse - and then gets chastised by the kid's parents.
Stupid, idiot parents just begging for their child to get hurt.
Grrr. .

That video clip disgusted me on several levels.As Mups has already said - parents who allow their children to tease dogs in this fashion are asking for trouble. Who would they blame? The dog!
Also - allowing a child to invade a dogs bed/cage can be distressing for the dog - it is their space and they may want to defend it. Who would they blame? The dog!
I do not agree with allowing a dog to lick a child's face - as several of these did. Much less lick a lollipop and allow the child to put it back in their mouth!
Lastly - a couple of those babes had very definitely soiled their nappys - they should have been away being washed and changed - not being filmed annoying the dogs!

Dogs do get jealous of New Babies.We kept a small Cot downstairs for daytime use. alway under supervision, minus the dog.
One morning we came down to see the dog laid down in the cot!
Imagine if the baby had been asleep in the cot?
After that, we took the Cot upstairs at night.
Dogs are not playthings for Babies and children.
