My battle with DWP over P.I.P finally over.

I've had a 12 month battle with the D.W.P over my P.I.P application.

Following a more than inaccurate assessment in which the assessor lied and the DWP refused my claim, a Judge overruled the DWP decision on Tuesday.

It's only taken me since 4/09/19 to win the battle at tribunal.

If anyone is in the same situation please don't give up, there is hope.

An apology woud be nice, but don't hold your breath.

Congratulations Reg but I wouldn't waste your time holding out for an apology if I were you.

Yes, an apology would be nice for all the stress caused.

My backdated payment will be apology enough

Re: My battle with DWP over P.I.P finally over.

If memory serves me right P.I.P assessments (as well as other things) were (maybe still are) carried out by a 3rd party company and the DWP told the company to get as many people off benefits and any other sorts of payments. It was only when a whistleblower came forward and showed internal emails and memo's was the whole sorry affair exposed.

it took my son over 18 months we had a fight but fight we did (well I fought for him) and it paid off in the end. The decision makers even apologised to him in court for it having got to where it did! Yes, fight for your rights is the best advice. .

I haven't heard about that but it wouldn't surprise me.

The report that was forwarded to the DWP was full of errors/lies.

Regarding my leg injury the assessor "noted" that I had lost slight movement and strength.....however I managed to get my surgeons report which stated(in 2018)I had lost between 40-60%.

Not what I'd call slight.
