Halloween tree.

Well I'd not heard of such things before but it would seem to be yet another American commercialisation of what once was not.

Quite a lot now on Google. Don't think we'll be bothering. Same with Halloween cards and even gifts. Nah. Just daft but no doubt it'll soon be over here.

Re: Halloween tree.

I've never heard of a Hallowe'en tree either. It probably will catch on here sometime in the near future.

I had to look at one to see what they were like ..... so many variations too.

I agree - it is cheap and nasty - and nothing whatever to do with Hallows Eve.

Re: Halloween tree.

I think it's popular this year because of uncertainty about Trick or Treat.
Lots of folk seem to be going overboard with decorating homes and gardens this year.
I don't blame them, something to cheer up famies is needed.
However, I wish more folk would make decorations instead of plastic tat they buy.

What's difficult about collecting sticks etc. to make scarecrows and brooms?

I've made two witches to go in my window and will paint a pumpkin (fancy a Boris or Trump) like I do every year.

It's more Trump's colouring I'd say, Tess.

It's popular because so many tacky things cross the Atlantic and get grabbed by silly people wanting to appear in the vanguard of style over here.
