Re: What's the attraction?

I love Morris Dancers we had some at my son's wedding which was a traditional country wedding held in a Tithe barn decorated with wild flowers.

The occasion was like something out of Thomas Hardy and remembered with fondness by many .

Pah! They're in it for the beer.

Re: What's the attraction?

I worked with one Morris Dancer in a Drawing Office. He seemed pretty normal...(whatever normal is?)
Another one was an Architect and he was a bit ‘wet’ but a nice enough man who liked real ale.

I have never ever considered whether l was attracted to a Morris Dancer. I feel sorry that they get so much jip, usually from men who seem to be suspicious as to why they dance in country clothes with ribbons.
I suppose, it could be worse, they could do embroidery!!

I wasn't protesting!

In fact - I would be interested to know more about it - the significance of the costumes/colours/music/dance steps etc.,

Come on, Harbal, enlightenment needed here!

I know. Perhaps protest wasn't the right word, but quite a few were very keen to put it on record that they are NOT attracted to morris dancers.

I don't know, but it sounds like a subject that I could tamper with.

I think you meant Morrison's shoppers. There's a difference.
