It shouldn't be because he is not part of the NHS. The Department of Health is not an NHS organisation and has it's own funding. But it's still all public money. The more public money is spent on this sort of thing, the less there is for the public's services. I think in our current climate a bathroom for cyclists is not a priority and such spending is a lavish extravagance.

It's not about increasing taxes. It's about ensuring that the big players are paying tax. We have a regressive tax that punishes people at the lower end of the earnings scale.

In France they have a completely different tax system with far more bands. The income tax band charged depends on your family /household size. It appears you pay more tax as a single person. Corporation tax is much higher than here.

Yep,

And the mass immigration to the UK.
Some are too dense to ever see it though.

That as well. Managers who can't manage a carrot being paid a fortune. Too many chiefs..

Last time I went to my appointment at the hospital and checked in at the reception, after the usual checks on address and telephone number the girl said, "I know this is a silly question but I have to ask you...how long have you been resident in this country?"

I told her a million years.

Hi

You have to compare like with like.

Our Income Tax pays for a lot of things which are charged separately in France, our NI Contributions are 12%, in france they are 30%.

The French pay more tax than we do.
