Hi

I have.

A £160 million investment into a £50 Billion Project.

Nothing about the infrastructure costs of getting it from A to B.

Re: Boris and Wind Power.

Boris has not made any mention of maintaining the 'spinning reserve' to ensure full power for when the wind does not blow. For those members who do not understand electricity generation, the spinning reserve refers to spare generation plant running, but not directly connected to the grid and available to connect to the grid when needed. That reserve comes at a cost and needs to be factored in.

I agree... almost!

Finish Crossrail - the Underground is already heavily oversubscribed.
Cancel Heathrow - there are at least two other large airports around Londonistan.
Cancel HS2 - certainly before even more billions are wasted on something that won't be used anyway.
Nuclear power stations - never mind 'finishing', we are going to need several more to be begun, especially if people are going to be forced to us those hopelessly inadequate electric cars.

Chinese? Frogs?

And to think that we were once, with America, world leaders in nuclear energy generation, early models being the Magnox type in 1956.

We should have used our early knowledge and experience and poured money into further development instead of letting everyone else leap ahead of us. Probably due to our traditional government policies of not wanting to spend money wisely.

And now we seem unable to build our own nuclear power plants and have to pay other nations to do it for us.

They don't just pick a site at random and bung up a wind farm, a lot of data is gathered first including the number of days/hours there is suitable wind.

Wind farms work best in colder climates because the air is denser so places like the UK are perfect. You do have to build overcapacity because when the wind is slack in one place it will be good in another however I have yet to drive past a wind farm that was stationary due to lack of wind.

.

There is enough hot air coming out of Westminster to keep us supplied ad infinitum!

On the contrary, I have driven past stationary wind towers on a number of occasions. Inland ones, admittedly.
