I thought you might like to know ecotricity started off in Sroud by a green activist and yes it is the home of Extinction Rebellion.

Nuclear power stations - never mind 'finishing', we are going to need several more to be begun, especially if people are going to be forced to us those hopelessly inadequate electric cars.
I get your point JBR, But we have two atomic power plants that are
either on or off the go depending on who is in government at the
time?? By the time they are finished they will cost probably three
times the original price and be totally outdated !! So no good
starting multiple projects at the same time knowing they are
doomed from the start due to lack of continuity of purpose??
I am sorry to say that uk is well on the way to becoming a failed
state as we seem unable to do virtually anything for ourselves
anymore due to lack of real skills or the motivation to reaquire them?
Sorry to be so pessimistic but we do not seem to have the ability
to even organise a piss up in a brewery anymore?
I have just been reading the court transcripts on the grenfell tower
tragedy and what happened there has only confirmed my growing
conviction that this country is now stuffed !!

Re: Boris and Wind Power.

What I worry about is where all that Heavy Water residue from the production of atomic power is going to end up.

Unfortunately Muddy, that one would not even be able to power
just one gold mine?

I believe the heavy water, if it is still used, just lays there and
never gets used as such?

We don’t need gold mines .

Mining for gold has caused poisoning of the Amazon by discharging mercury Into the great river.

This has cause the death of not just fish and wildlife but o th indigenous tribes who live on the river .

My suggestion assumed, of course, the presence of a forward-looking government.
