Over 50's forum in my area..find it a bit depressing any ideas to liven it up a bit?

I'm new here...Would like to know what people think of thier local over 50's forums..seem to come away from mine feeling down... need to liven it up a bit! anyone got any idea's they could share?

I have tried to liven it up a little along with others by posting controversial. Items in the politics section ..but to no avail ..Mods come down like a ton of bricks and people get banned ....so we have the same old boring threads

HIYA tomcat...dont mean on here ...we've got an over 50's forum in my local area... not been retired very long..trying to get involved with my local community...
