And with the EU playing silly buggers, it looks like we will be heading for an WTO agreement. It's been obvious for a long time that the EU aren't prepared to offer the UK the same terms as other FTAs as a means of discouraging other countries from leaving the bloc.

Mr Barnier has said the EU is not prepared to "copy and paste" aspects of existing agreements with other countries or do sector-by-sector deals "rooted in past precedents".

Like president de gaulle, barnier could have sufficed with "non!".

Barnier is an idiot, he is putting his ideology above the EU businesses, jobs and incomes of millions of people in tbe EU. Business aren't stupid enough to go along with Barniers craziness as we will see very soon.

If you ran a business or knew anything about economics you would be agreeing with me

Hi

Car Exports.

54% of our car exports go to the EU.

11.7 % of EU Car Exports go to the UK.

Simple maths, do your sums.

A 10% Import Duty is going to hurt us more than them.

Hi

At the moment 87% of our Imports are Tariff Free.

Under the new rules only 60% of our Imports will be Tariff Free.

A fact ignored by some.

Not really - manufacturers can lower their prices to be competitive then the price stays the same as it is now, that's why Barnier is having a heart attack because he has an FTA on his lap with us and hasn't agreed it - EU businesses are going to be very upset with Mr Barnier. So much so, his negotiations are going to a lot harder with EU businesses, convincing them of the need for them to crash their own profit margins or cave in and sign up to what we offer.

It also depends on where the cars are made Swimmy. Your only giving one side of the story as usual.

Hi

Not at all.

We leave at the end of this year.

The USA has a protectionist policy, Trump has made that clear.

As regards cars etc, we are not going to being importing vast numbers of private cars or commercial vehicles from The USA, they are not fuel efficient.

India has said sod off and Japan has said wait and see, we will not do a deal with you until we know what you agree with the EU.

Both Kia and Hyundai cars manufactured in the EU will now be subject to 10% Tax.
