Cancelling implies that they had been booked. Not very likely, surely. The ones that appear at my front door don’t resemble the ones shown here. Ours are all earnest looking women in their thirties I would think. I always politely say ‘no thank you’ and they gratefully go away. Their visits seem to occur three of four times a year.

The island is unrealistically small. It can’t sustain life. What effect will the mating season on the birds that surround the castaways? They are not looking forward to it.

This surely is an attempt to patronise the movement for women’s equality. It is not particularly strident but it is a little dig all the same.
