I have dealt with a lot of process plants where recycled waste was their main, or sometimes only, source of material.
Yes we have 3 bins here, one for landfill/ one for recycle / and
one for compost, the guide for plastic is plastic bottles and
stiff plastic containers can be recycled, but thin cling wrap
type plastic and black polystyrene containers must go to
landfill, all paper or cardboard can be recycled.
All food waste goes to landfill.
Most garden cuttings and weeds etc to compost!
But l have heard municipalities dont always recycle at their
depots but put it in landfill??

I have heard that too. Not sure how reliable that information is.
