They look like a smaller version of the ones we got. It works by weight, if a big bird lands on the perch then it's weight shuts the feeding hole. They can't get a grip to perch on the top either they slide off.

That is exactly what happens. I was really fed up as the squirrels were chewing others to bits and the mess on the ground was attracting big birds and rodents.

The one I have is fairly big and though at £24 it seemed expensive compared to the plastic ones it's well worth the money as it's like fort knox and cannot be chewed or tampered with. I bought mine on Amazon.

Ebay or Amazon. But if you Google "Pest Off Feeders" then you may come up with them a bit cheaper.
