Remainers last stand ???

As predicted on this forum, the remainers in the tory party have
staged a last minute attack on Boris Johnston ostensibly to
protest his handling of the covid crisis?
But the reality is to unseat him and thus create an opportunity to
either fudge our leaving properly or to overturn Brexit entirely ??
The so called rebellion is led by none other but the traitor Theresa
May with the help of the 1920 commitee of the tory party !!
These bastards have been laying in wait for a chance to upset the
Brexit applecart for the last year and this is the last chance for them
to act?
I knew the tories could not be trusted and now they have proved it?
Luckily this time the voting backed Boris, but the traitors have now
exposed themselves and should be expelled from the tory party
for failing to follow through on their election manifesto imo ??

Not really it isn't, especially in light of the nefarious actions of a certain tranche of MP's since the referendum - and remember that May was a figurehead, and is responsible for the position we are in now regarding Brexit negotiations.
No British leader should ever have allowed the EU to dictate the process the way Theresa May did; small wonder she is widely referred to as "Treason May" by some.

Please understand that I'm not agreeing with Donkeyman's post per se.
But given what has happened these past years, seeing such actions against our PM when anybody can see that we are handling the virus as well as or even better than so many of our neighbours certainly can't be described as "paranoia".

Belgium: more deaths per head of population; does less testing per head of population; hospitals so full that patients are being flown to Germany.

France: currently more deaths/day; more new infections/day; half the testing of the UK; lockdown just days before the UK.

Spain: more deaths per head population (despite "fudging" numbers); more new infections/day per head population; much less testing than the UK; no national lockdown.

Covid-19 is unprecedented.
You cannot control a virus; even the WHO have to adapt and keep changing their advice as knowledge about the virus increases.
It is not therefore unreasonable to see any leader similarly adapt and change their response.

So maybe l am paranoid??
But did you notice the funny thing that happened in the HOC today?
It wasnt the labour party that was kicking against Boris as they voted
for him !!!
No! it was his own party, the gang of remainers that make up the
bulk of the tory party led by the witch theresa may??

In fact, if labour had not voted for, then Boris would have been
defeated in the vote !!! Possibly leading to calls to resign?
Do you not think this is suspicious?
Especially as the vote was about the new lockdown and not brexit
related at all?
WHY vote against your leader for doing something that you previously
agreed with on the earlier lockdown??
I believe the reason they rebelled over a non brexit related matter
was so that they could not be disciplined for failing to honour their
manifesto which they all signed up to??
And this happened at the most crucial moment in the so called
brexit negotiations??
Do you not find this FISHY ?? (pun intended!)

It's a classic case of "following the science" but "implementing the politics".

Re: Remainers last stand ???

Hi

I am no remainder.

I am glad we are leaving.

Boris has put us in a worse situation than May.

That takes some doing, but he has managed it.

I would not give the EU an Inch, it is a massive failing on behalf of our Politicians,

How on earth did you reach that conclusion?
You do realise that nothing is settled yet, don't you?
Which means that Boris has not yet put us in any position at all - or at least none that cannot be reversed if required.

Cameldung began by running as soon as he could; he abdicated responsibility.
Treason May meanwhile began by conceding to the EU's wishes and followed that up with delaying tactics; that is where your politicians gave the EU far, far more than just an inch.

Boris might yet also capitulate but if he does, he knows that both he and his party are finished as a political force for generations to come.
Many of us doubt he wants that.

Re: Remainers last stand ???

I see that the godawful Anna Soubry is demanding (if you please) that Brexit be delayed, the transition period be extended and for Britain to be closely linked to the single market and customs union.

These Remainers are really getting desperate now.

Message to Ms. Sourby. Get Stuffed.
