Half Term

Half Term started here today.

The Pretendies are away to Poland tonight with Mum.

The good thing about Half Term is that I will be able to get in and out without having my drive blocked by the Mums on the School Run.

Any of you on child minding duties next week?

Up here, SF, half term has just come to an end. Having looked after our wee granddaughter for most of the week, I am now about to pour myself a large glass of red!

It was a great few days, with quality time, and gave immense pleasure, but tiring.

Enjoy your peace and quiet, SF, and to those of you who will be babysitting, I hope you enjoy as well.

It's easy to entertain grand kids. Just take notes of everything your dil asks that they should NOT do. --- and do 'em. Lighting bonfires, getting soaking wet AND dirty, pub lunches with non alcoholic beer, firing my shotgun etc. All the good things in life.

When my children were little, l used to take them to Mothercare to play with the toys!

My Grandson's Half Term at College starts next week, he's looking forward to the break.

Thank goodness for that info, Thanks, I'll remember to shop at the local Co-op well before 3 p.m. & after 5 p.m. The parents park in their car park to pick up their little darlings from the junior school down the road & block it, it isn't very big, so no one can park there during get out of school time.

The tattie holidays are long past here, and I doubt they picked many tatties.

I had forgotten about things like half term. such things are non existent here. The schools have four terms beginning about the 1st February and ending middle of December. Christmas is the big six(ish) week summer holiday. If I remember rightly the UK school year started in September for some reason.

The real annoyance is that each state has slightly different holiday times which can catch you out when travelling ie Victoria's spring term started on 7th October whereas NSW schools went back on the 16th October.

Our schools have just gone back after 2 weeks of the wee, (cough cough) angels hanging around the village looking for mischief.
