As I've said elsewhere, the best options for things like that is an oubliette.
The mediaeval barons used to just dump them down there and forget about them.
I think we're more humane, and should keep throwing rotting scraps down there to keep them alive for as long as possible. Make the rest of their lives as miserable as we can.
