Trans in sport??

Should transgender persons be allowed to compete in so called
normal sport?
Or should they be restricted to competing amongst themselves
only? Something like the paraplegic sports we allready have!

Re: Trans in sport??

Perhaps there should be some way of measuring strength, weight, height etc. And open all sports to everyone.
It was hardly a level playing field when some of the Russian women competed.

I sort of agree with Tessa. How about using a handicap system? For example, if you win 2 consecutive 100m races then the 3rd race you enter you start 5m behind the start line (making your race 105m long).

Why complicate things Tessa?
The current male/ female was working ok untill we had an influx
of very mannish ' women ' entering competitions against proper
women and usally dominating the esults?!
Keep things seperate, men/women/paraplegic ,which would
include the trans athletes!
Keep it simple!

In a word ..... No.

Transgender shouldn't be allowed to switch lanes, so to speak. They have an unfair advantage.
I don't imagine many ladies changing to blokes fancy competing...... it's all blokes morphing into ladies.

Re: Trans in sport??

In one word NO

and that is based on two examples. One was a male weightlifter who was not very good. He trans to a woman, took part in female weightlifting events and was not only winning everything but breaking many of the long stand female weightlifting records.

Second one is an American wrestler (not the WWE type wrestler), trans to a woman and won everything in the female weight category. I believe has still gone unbeaten.

Of course we have the SA 800m athlete who though not trans, is biologically a female but her body produces a very high level of testosterone which means her body physique and strength is on par with male athletes, won everything and broke records until she was forced to take testosterone blockers.

Which is why in my opinion, trans women should not be allowed to compete in female sports because they know they have an advantage.
