Old runner bean seeds

Just potted some old beans to germinate.

'Sow before 2014' - variety Prizewinner

Am I wasting my time?

You can but try and see if they are ok. might pay to have a backup plan and buy more seeds on the internet

either held up or not arriving at all!

Seriously though Biffo I think they should be okay. Apparently at Que Gardens they have seeds dating back many years from locations all around the world, and they reckon that if they have been kept in favourable conditions they will always germinate once warmth and moisture is added...

A friend has just sent me some wild sweet pea seeds - they are a couple of years old - but I am going to see if they still work!
