Re: The Skip has arrived.

A garden is a wonderful thing indeed and yours sounds great. There is nothing like sitting in your garden on a fine summer's morning, it can lift the spirit like nothing else, I often wonder how people can live in an apartment with no green space at all, that would drive me crackers! Good luck with it anyway Swims, hope it all goes to plan.

Re: The Skip has arrived.

When I built my side flank extn to a previous house the ground was that horrible yellow London Clay. Next door worked for the council so he arranged for one of those huge skips to be dropped off on the front drive.
So I filled the skip and the lorry that came could not lift it, the front wheels came off the ground. With a few extra blocks of wood at the back the lorry managed to pick the skip up,
That is not the end of the story, When they tried to empty the skip they actually had to dig out the clay from the skip as it had stuck to the skip itself. I don't think they were too happy with me

Swimmy, I hope you you are able to get your garden just as you want it and that it gives you the pleasure of relaxing out there in the summer days.

Good luck with it, don't even try to attempt any heavy work as I'm sure others will help you with it.

Hi

This is only a 4 cubic Metre ship, but still cost £140 for soil and plants only.

It is worth it as cheaper than the labour and fuel of taking it to the tip.

I have to do something about it, after the rain it gets saturated with standing water , it takes days to drain.

In summer it is like concrete.

That looks quite the sad patch of ground there, Swimmy. I do hope you get it sorted out!

Seeing that Swimmy, I can understand why you are troubled with flooding

I hope you can get it sorted.
